Parallel to the Monumental Rosary was built between 1904 and 1916 on other side of the mountain the Via Crucis, another monumental sculpture consisting of 14 stations representing the Passion of Jesus. Borne by the Brotherhood of the Cross Perpetual and Living in Barcelona, was the work of Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia (then head architect of the Basilica of Montserrat) and Eduard Mercader, while the sculpture entirely ran by Eusebi Arnau - author of the models, which ran the sculptor Joan Pujol. The group had developed a style vaguely Sagnier Gaudi, perceptible by the rough surfaces of the stone pinnacles cake and naturalists. In addition to the sculpture was erected at the end of the course the Chapel of Solitude (1915-1916), Eastern-influenced temple inspired by the tomb of Jesus, Darius Vilas paintings and a sculpture by Josep Llimona. The Via Crucis was destroyed in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War, now being a single track, the base of the Crucifixion, and the Capilla de la Soledad, who survived the destruction.

In the 1950 projected a new Via Crucis, by architect Frank Folger, Margarida sculptures by Jordi Sans, Francesc Domènech Juventeny and Fita. Damaged in recent years by some detachment, some works have had to be withdrawn and replaced by a trail designed by Josep Garganté.
