The Gaudí & Barcelona
Club has been organizing tours through a local travel agency since
1999. The tours are specifically focused on the works of Antonio Gaudí
and the most famous architectural sights in the city of Barcelona.
Those specialized tours
are for people that are searching for personalized care and attention
and a deep knowledge of the culture through which they are, including
gastronomy, art, society, and local events.
Some examples of past tours:

July 1999- Group of
15 journalists from the OTA/OTR financial newspaper in San Francisco. We
arranged the bus, the official guide - an expert in the architecture of
Gaudí, the entrances for the buildings, and free entrance to a very

August 1999- Personal
tour for Robina Mapstone "Bobbie", public relations and programs manager
of the Gamble House, University of Southern California, School of architecture
in Pasadena, and a friend, visiting "La Pedrera", "Finca Guell", "Cripta

September 1999- 4-hour
personal for Stephanie Reineke and 3 others, visiting the most important
buildings designed by Gaudi. Stephanie is an artist from Colorado (US) who
works with tiles, in the Gaudi style. We will publish pictures of her work

October
1999- Full-day tour for 15 modern art docents from the US, visiting
Gaudi works and other modernist buildings. Lunch at a typical local tapas
bar. This group came through Request Adventures, a Travel Agency of San
Francisco specializing in art travel for carefree small groups. Jack and

November 1999- Half-day
Gaudi tour for 32 people. This group came through Travel Dimensions, a Travel
Agency of Ohio. Bob Herrmann is the responsible. RHerrm1039@aol.com
Their tour was followed by a Mediterranean cruise. Here are some pictures

January 2000- Clausen
from Norway took a 2-person tour. They really enjoyed the visits and the
antique London-style taxi cab which picked them up and drove them between
the various sights. |
February 2000- A 22-person
group from Ohio (USA) came to visit La Pedrera and other Gaudí buildings.
We organized a tour divided into two days. Claudia and Roger cfischer@wcnet.org,
from Roger Holidays, and the trip organizers were responsible for us getting
to know this incredible group! We really enjoyed you guys! |
September 2000- 30
Ladies from different parts of the world, came to Barcelona and while
their husbands were at the Gas Processors Association convention from
England, we organized for them a whole day tour visiting the most important
Gaudi works and after a typical catalan meal, they enjoyed a visit to
the Torres winery. The tour was really amazing and they had fun. The responsible
of the organizations of the convention is Brian
