"La Pedrera Giants" are the official giants of the Eixample neighbourhood. They represent some of the incredible Casa Milà's chimneys designed by Gaudí.

The giants or "gegants" are an old tradition in Catalonia that already appears in old documents of the XIVth century related to the Corpus procession in Barcelona.

Every town has its own giants and represents the typical men/women of the region or some important person in the history of this place.
The giants go out during the patron saint holiday of the town (Festa Major) or in special days, and dance in the streets going with little "big-heads" or "cap-grossos".

This picture was taken by Pilar Carretero the day when the giants where shown for the first time.
